What flying into Athens costs
The routes we price into Athens, each against its own ninety-day band, with the date of every figure.
Airline flights only, within 160 nautical miles of Athens. Private and business jets, military aircraft, helicopters and aircraft whose owners have asked not to be displayed are left out before anything reaches this page, and no registration is kept.
How do you know a plane is landing at ATH?
From the aircraft itself. Within 40 nautical miles of Athens, below 10,000 feet and descending faster than 300 feet a minute, it is listed as arriving. Climbing at that rate, as departing. That is what the aircraft is doing, not a timetable, so a plane in a holding pattern can drop off the list for a minute.
How fresh are the positions?
The source allows a few hundred requests a day, so our server reads only what someone is looking at, the airport in view about once a minute. Each panel says how old its positions are, and between reads each aircraft is moved along its own track at its own ground speed, for four minutes at most.

Where does the data come from?
Positions come from adsb.lol, a community network of volunteer receivers that publishes them under the Open Database License. Fares come from our own daily observations. Coverage depends on where receivers are, so a quiet sector can mean thin reception rather than an empty sky.

Our own analytics are cookieless and already running, they count page views and
nothing else. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are separate, they set cookies
